Love the restaurant under new owners. Old owners were great too. Glad to see the updated interior and love the new outdoor deck. Food was excellent. Had the corned beef hash for breakfast.

Great atmosphere, clean, great food, priced right. Staff was super friendly. Outdoor patio open for this covid era and all staff with masks.

Best, most consistent restaurant in town! Everything on the menu is 5 stars!!

We stopped in Schroon Lake to get fuel, take in the eclipse and grab something to eat. We could not have been more satisfied with the quality of our delicious meals and the great customer service. The fried chicken salad with ranch dressing, the fried chicken sandwich, fresh soups, freshly made pies and coffee were all perfectly prepared and presented. It's obvious why this place has been around for more than a hundred years. Looking forward to my next visit.

Breakfast was great after coming from a few days at Otis mountain. They seated nine of us at a big round table without a hitch— the staff was very friendly. The biscuits and gravy were great, and the pancakes were very good with real maple syrup for an extra $1.75. Sunny side up fried eggs were definitely overdone. Supposedly they have a long dessert menu.

Great customer service. Ordered the daily special: a PLT with pastrami, lettuce and tomato on toasted rye bread with a side of beef minestrone soup. Oh my! The sandwich was so good, it was gone before I thought to take a picture of it.

My family and I have been going here for 50 years. Breakfast can’t be beat by anyone here at Pitkins. Whenever I’m in the area I make sure to stop in. Staff are always on it and always ensure quality dining. Check this place out !

Great food great wait staff

Great food options right by Schroon Lake! The food was great. Service was wonderful, really attentive waitresses. I really enjoyed the refillable chocolate milk and ice tea! Place is maintained cleaned and sanitized. I highly recommend this place to eat when you’re around the area!

We had been here a few years ago under the old management, and the food was okay at best. We gave it another try when we heard that it had changed hands, and what a difference! The food was great both times we went (lunch one day, breakfast another), and their homemade pie is outstanding. Reasonable prices, friendly service... A really solid experience all around.

Stopped here on my way home for a quick bite to eat. I ordered a bacon burger with bbq sauce and oh my. Love the food and loved the service!

Family friendly. We enjoyed our visit. Cook is creative--go ahead and ask for something special. If he has time, he'll do it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.

Our first trip here this year, food good, service below average, and they have remodeled all of the small town charm out of the place... Sorry changing the review from very good to just average.

Unbelievable Fries! The breakfast, sandwich, and salad selection is great! Soups are delicious! Family friendly. Always busy but still fast. Friendly personnel.

Awesome home cooked meals for a great price can't get any better so good

I have been eating at Pitkin‘s during summer weekend getaway visits to Schroon Lake for over 35 years, and I love the totally remodeled look the new owners unveiled this year! The new outdoor patio is also a great addition, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite all the upgrades, the food is still reasonably priced and as delicious as always. So glad the new owners are keeping the 100+ year tradition going.

Had to try the Pulled Pork Reuben since they make their own BBQ Sauce. Amazing!!!!

Great food that's fairly priced. New owners have taken on a local landmark and seem to be doing a great job. Staff was attentive but not too much. Table spacing and shields for distancing fit well with the layout and brand new remodeling.

Had a lovely lunch on the patio today. Service was great, food excellent, table spacing at least 6 feet apart, hand sanitizer available, very clean.

Under new owners, prices are up a little, more variety, quality of the food we got was way down. Got a to go order, one sandwich was good, one was so-so, and the burger smelled bad. Kind of rancid. The soup was just awful, not edible, so I took it back. The cole slaw was about half liquid, tasted a little old, not awful though. The potato salad was made with onion juice or crushed onions. Not good at all. To go sodas are about 10-12 ounces and way over priced.The waitress said "Sorry about that" and apparently the matter was settled. Maybe they just had a speed bump but I will not go back. Most of the order was returned or put in the trash.

We've been going to Pitkins for 20 years. Ownership recently changed hands. They've done some renovation and few changes to the menu, but mostly have kept intact what has made Pitkins a mainstay of the Adirondacks for over one hundred years of continuous operation. One of our favorites. Great food, service, location, and price.

Really good soup, fries, and salad. The restaurant had no heat which was horrible as it was in the 40's outside. Everyone kept their jackets on.Menu is pricey for what you get, but overall, food was good.

We have made a tradition of going to Pitkins for coffee and pie the last few times we've been in Schroon lake. We both had the blackberry cobbler, which was delicious. The coffee is okay, not coffee house grade but good for a restaurant/coffee shop. I looked at the food that people were eating around us and it all look good, but I don't have any for stand experience of that.

New owners, New food. Classics mixed with updated things. Friendly, attentive service.Plenty of coffee refills.And Marie is still there helping in the transition.Looks like everything is made in house.

Pickens totally just upgraded their restaurant. Everything is brand new, and it is a really nice environment to dine in. The food is priced very reasonably. The service is consistently great, and the staff know how to take care of people. I really enjoy the breakfast here. I really recommend this place as the best diner for breakfast at least in Schroon lake

Great Hot Turkey Sandwich! Loved the coleslaw, but mostly, was impressed with how it was packaged for take out. Worth the trip!

We arrived in the rain on an October Sunday, at lunchtime, and wow.Busy.Friendly, efficient, the staff got us seated and menu'd and drinks'd in three minutes.The food was good. It arrived in good time and tasted fine.This isn't a five star Michelin Guide place, but it'll do on a Sunday afternoon.

A recent change in ownership has improved the entire experience. They upgraded both the interior and the food. I now call it the anchor restaurant of Schroon Lake.

Great place! We ate here 2 times on our trip and both times we enjoyed it. They have different menus for each meal so check them out. The outdoor seating is very nice and modern. The Balsamic Chicken Pasta was amazing for dinner!

Very family friendly. Food was great. Service was very attentive and food came out super quick (not terribly busy at the time). Pricing is fair. Our party (my wife, 6 kids and i) had burgers, ribs, fish-n-chips and sandwiches. Everybody was happy.
